Treinta Jamaica — thirty, in Spanish. Thirty hibiscus flowers, each one painted individually, each one its own world. Against a deep black backdrop, they glow with the kind of intensity that makes you stop and just look.

Mathew Humphries painted every bloom with meticulous care — the hibiscus, known in Spanish as jamaica, is a flower of extraordinary beauty: wide, layered petals that catch light differently depending on the angle, a color that sits somewhere between crimson and magenta and refuses to be pinned down.
