Red-winged Blackbird Polo(Male Ralph Lauren) Collage

This one started with the frame.

I hunted down a specific Ralph Lauren frame — ornate, wooden, exactly right. Inside was a typical RL hunter print. I removed it, dismantled the backing, and installed my own illustration in its place: a Red-winged Blackbird in full flight, rendered in Sakura Micron Pigma archival ink on heavy Canson mixed media paper, yellow streaks cutting across the composition to give the still image a sense of speed and motion.

Then I took the original Ralph Lauren paper backing — the map print that came with the frame — and collaged it back in behind my illustration. My handwritten title, signature, and Certificate of Authenticity are mounted alongside it, along with my business card. The whole thing is permanently installed and sealed.

What you're getting is not just an illustration in a nice frame. It's a constructed object — a collision between my work and a piece of American fashion heritage, made intentional and permanent. That's why it's one of my favorites. There is only one.
